SSANZ was founded in January 2019, by a group of enthusiastic people who have created a direction for their ‘scent’ activities. A committee has been formed, rules have been established, and we are now an incorporated society.

Jan Voss was our first president, she is a driven person, full of ideas and a passion for dogs and enriching their lives with scent sports. With Jan’s leadership, in our first year, we became incorporated, started accepting memberships, and developed and started hosting ‘nosework’ trials.

Our current president is Rob Peterson, an enthusiastic leader with military and dog training experience. 

The SSANZ committee's focus is on long term development for an exciting future.

We have had an amazing response from keen, kiwi dog owners and organisations wanting to come on board and grow scent sports in NZ. 

We currently have 18 registered organisations and over 100 individual members.
